New Laboratory with Glass Evaporators and Integration of Pilot Plants of Canzler GmbH

With the takeover of the Canzler Thermal Separation and Membrane Technology Buss-SMS acquired the equipment of the Canzler testing facility, which was integrated into the existing Buss-SMS test center in Pratteln/Switzerland in 2004.

1. Glass Evaporators

A laboratory with glass evaporators was added to the Buss-SMS testing scope by integrating the Canzler systems.

The glass evaporation plants with thin film evaporator, short path evaporator, rotary evaporator and a large variety of other laboratory equipment were integrated into our test center. These glass plants are used for preliminary tests and feasibility studies, which only require a small amount of the test product.

Furthermore the new laboratory offers the possibility of performing basic analyses and the installation of analytical devices of customers.

2. Integration of Pilot Plants of Canzler Test Center

Due to the integration of the Canzler pilot plants Buss-SMS-Canzler can offer trials on all important evaporator variations of the combined product range (Canzler and Buss-SMS design).

The following evaporation systems have been newly installed:

2 thin film evaporator and short path evaporator combinations; each stage also suitable for independent operation<?xml:namespace prefix = o /><o:p> </o:p>
1 thin film evaporator system with counter and co-current working principle, combined with a distillation column, which can be operated as mere rectifying column or as complete distillation column with additional column reboiler

A large variety of different rotor types for the thin film and short path evaporators is available, e.g. fixed blade rotor (LN), metal wipers type Sambay (LB), wiper rotor with PTFE or graphite wipers and roller rotor.
