Membranes are utilized for component separation. They are combined with thermal separation processes either in independent process stages or in hybrid systems.

For tasks that cannot be resolved with membrane technology alone, hybrid systems in combination with a thermal separation stage are utilized. By this provision operating costs can be optimized.
